Joint Operational Fires and Effects Course (JOFEC) Practice Test

SOCCE brings together the senior land-component echelons from the major services to coordinate fires and effects at the operational level. The levels that make up the SOCCE are the United States Army Corps and the Marine Air-Ground Task Force’s Marine Expeditionary Force levels. These are the large, deployable formations that routinely plan and execute joint fires across services, providing the cross-component perspective and authority needed to synchronize effects between the Army and the Marine Corps.

The other options point to formations that, while capable of delivering fires, do not represent the primary cross-service coordination echelons used for SOCCE planning and execution. Navy carrier strike groups and Air Force wings/groups operate at different domains and organizational scales, and Marine divisions are smaller than the MEF-level construct that typically serves in this coordinating role.
